Donation Processing
Instead of receiving payments for services or products, non-profit organizations receive donations from caring donors. Though non-profits have the same
labor requirements for processing
their donations as a for-profit business they have some variations that can complicate the process.
For example:

Non-profits do not know how much a donor will contribute and when they will contribute.

New donors need to be added as the new donation is received.

The name on the check must be credited for the donation,
not
the name on the donation card or coupon.
